We're not for sure certain when Jake was born but I'm pretty sure it was sometime this month 12 years ago. We bought Jake from a farmer in Inkom, Idaho. When we were leaving with Jake, I asked the farmer..."Oh ya, when is Jake's birthday?" He looked at me like that was kind of a ridiculous question, so let's just say that he had no idea!
There were 8 or so puppies in the litter, and they were all running around like wild banshees when we were trying to decide on which one. (Shorthairs have A LOT of engery, and I mean A LOT!!) Anyway, I had told DK that I would take them all, if that made the decision any easier! He didn't bite on that suggestion, tho. :) Jake was the only puppy that looked at us twice when we were whistling like crazy to get their attention.
Jake's still full of energy especially considering his age. For years, I would put him on a treadmill to wear him out. He L.O.V.E.S to run!
He's also hearty as a horse. I don't think we've even spent $1,000 at the vet for Jake. He's never sick, never sore, and just needs some daily attention and time in the house. Easy peasy.
Eric LOVES Jake and will follow him around forever in the backyard. A boy and his dog - just as it should be! Happy Birthday, Jake!
